Swedish auto manufacturer Volvo, is recalling 59,000 cars across the world due to a software bug.

Spokesman for Volvo, Stefan Elfstrom said today that the bug can briefly shutdown essential services in the car that include engine and electrical systems whilst the car is in motion.

He also went on to say that the bug affects only five cylinder diesel versions of the S60 and S70 series built from mid 2015 onwards.

The markets affected are mainly Sweden, Britain and Germany.

Volvo is now owned by Chinese company Geely Holding who bought the Volvo brand in 2010.
