Amanda Hinchcliffe made a delightful appearance for Edition 28. At the time she was a shortlisted contender for the Miss Hawaiian Tropics Bikini competition and was excited about going to the USA to compete against the world’s best swimsuit models.
We were also excited and enjoyed being involved with Amanda as we coached and promoted her and dedicated Edition 28 – The Tropicana Edition, to assisting her cause.
We assisted also by sponsoring her crowning gown which was a magnificent dress created by Villoni Fashions in Sydney.
The choice for the final themed costume came down to either a Great Barrier Reef theme dress made specially for us by Robyn Caughlan who is one of Australia’s foremost fashion designers, or a Crocodile Dundee themed shorts and singlet.
Amanda took both outfits with her and we had no idea until that evening which one she was going to choose.
Her final choice was the Crocodile Dundee themed outfit and she nailed it !!
It was a pleasure to hear the news that she had won. And what made this win extra special, is that Amanda was the FIRST Australian model to win the competition since it’s inception in 1984.
