Hiroshi Hamaguchi has announced his participation in the GT Asia Series. The sensational Japanese driver will be paired up with reigning Champion, Mok Weng Sun in the McLaren 12C beginning in Okayama this weekend.

The 36 year old driver was unable to sign on for the year for health reasons but has confirmed his first appearance with Team Clearwater Racing in the upcoming race.

The Super GT Series regular first participated in the GT Asia Series with Hitotsuyama Racing in an Audi R8 LMS during the 2011 season. His knowledge of the Suzuka circuit proved to be a great advantage claiming pole position and winning both rounds held there.

Then in 2012 Hamaguchi took Clearwater Racing’s Ferrari 458 to one sixth place and one win at the Season Opener held in Sepang.

The GT Asia Series continues with Rounds 3 & 4 at the Okayama International Circuit this 28-30 June 2013. Early weather reports expect rain on Saturday and clear skies on Sunday, a repeat of the weather in Motegi last month, making for another unpredictable race weekend.
